This website (militarytime.org) is operated by the Military Time Institute to the inform and educate visitors about military time. Our mission is to maintain an independent archive of military time documents and information to ensure the legacy and usage of military time is preserved. The Military Time Institute is a social enterprise that is not affiliated with any military organization.
How We Treat Regular Time
On this website you will notice that when we refer to a time not designated in military time it is called regular time. We have chosen this notation to avoid confusion with standard time. Standard time is used to differentiate between summer time and winter time in regions that use daylight savings. For example Eastern Time (ET) is recorded as EST (Eastern Standard Time) or EDT (Eastern Daylight Time) depending on the time of year.
